Another year has gone by, MRC, Sibu Chapter continued to work as a humanitarian organization to render help and services for the alleviation of pains and sufferings of the afflicted fellow human beings. Our first-aid workers, disaster relief efforts, blood donation services and our training programmes for various categories of people formed our regular activities, and they continued to be active and successfully carried out, thanks to the dedication of so many of our working members. Through our activities we have touched the life of many vulnerable people locally and elsewhere. Our achievements are a testimony of our true commitment & dedication to serve others.
Our Youth and Link section continued to recruit in new members while some older members left for high studies. The strength of the Youth and Link members continued to remain strong. Thanks to the schools, teachers and parents who are our staunch supporters.
The fund raising efforts remained more or less the same each year. We are grateful to all the members who devoted valuable time and energy to help our Chapter to raise sufficient funds for our activities. I wish to give our thanks to the generous public in Sibu as well as all the Y.Bs and donors for their unfailing donation to our Society. I trust they will continue to give generous support to MRC Sibu Chapter and we should avow making even greater effort to render services to the less fortunate members of the Society.
Our members both young and old are aware that disaster either man-made or natural can occur anytime. Therefore, as MRC members, we must be prepared all the time to do ther utmost we can to give help and relief to the affected victims. As such, continuous learning and preparedness are essential. We continued to do welfare works and disaster relief for local community wherever situations warranted and we have the requisite capacity.
Training for members and the general public is crucial to our Society’s growth and development. The scope in training is still wide and I hope that the committee will further explore ways to enhance the skills and knowledge of all our members. The Society expects our members to render quality services at all times when called upon.
Finally, I thank all my colleagues in the executive committee for their dedication, help and guidance. I hope all will continue to render humanitarian services to the less fortunate fellow human beings for many years to come.
Thank you and I wish each and everyone good luck and good health.
